Course Introduction:
The Master's program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language aims to train students with sufficient professional vocational education skills and English knowledge, so that they can teach English in domestic and foreign higher education institutions or private schools. This major is mainly designed for individuals who are interested but lack or have limited experience in teaching English, to gain a deeper understanding of the methods and theories of teaching English as a foreign language. The focus of this subject is on learning effective classroom interactive teaching, lesson preparation, public speaking, and teaching language methods.
Course Features:
Students can engage in classroom observation and interactive teaching
The first year:
Multicultural/multilingual education, World English, on-site assessment of teaching English as a foreign language, mobile assisted language learning, language learning and teaching principles, research methodology for teaching English as a foreign language, educational management, literature on teaching English as a foreign language;
The second year:
Curriculum development and design, writing materials for teaching English as a foreign language, and academic papers.
Admission Qualifications:
A master's degree from a recognized institution by the Malaysian government or an equivalent qualification recognized by the evaluation council;
International students are required to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0, TOEFL score of 550, Linguaskill score of 169, or a graduate degree taught in English.
